I have acquired a Kisutch kit.  It has no instructions for the radio and running rigging.  Can anyone help?

Maurice.  I am not familiar with this particular kit.  Can you bring it along to Andrew Haydon Park on Friday between 11 and 2 which is where we sail.  One of the guys should be able to help you.  If you cannot do this send me a private message and will see if we can work something out.

I will try.  It is a Marblehead.

Thanks for your help and encouragement last Friday.  The kit is a marblehead from the Rob Sterne boatyards in Vancouver.  It consists of a hull, rudder, deck, fin, lead wieght (bulb?), two masts and two sets of sails.  There are instructions for rigging but nothing for installation of the radio.  It helped to see several installations at Andrew Hayden Park.  I have searched out a sail winch and gotten a chinese radio so here I go.

By the way, if anyone is interested, take a look at the American Vintage Model Yacht Group website.  Their book on building Yankee lll has cleared up a lot of details for me.

Might want to try the US RC sailing AMYA web site site - great building guide for IOMS - VERY applicable to Marbleheads, they are really just big IOMS

part 4 deals with radio set up

Marbleheads have a LOT of sail area compared to theM12 and will need a decent sail servo. Hitec drum is slooow, the 815 will NOT handle strong winds...better choice might be a Hitec digital servo  in the mininum 350oz/in torque range. I am using an 7955 in the S50 which has more sail area than a Marbleheads "A" rig. Fights a bit sheeting in in high winds (20+kph) with the A rig but have had her out in 50kph+ with the B rig, no issues - sometimes you just have to go to the smaller rig:) Nigel
